We want to acknowledge the feedback many of you have shared following the release of the new Dive Shearwater app. While we are excited about this major step forward for the Shearwater digital ecosystem, we also recognize that several of you are experiencing issues, and for that, I sincerely apologize.

 

Your trust is something we work hard to earn every day, and we know these frustrations fall short of the standard you expect from us.

 

What We’re Seeing

 

The issues reported so far fall into three main areas:

1. Login & Password Challenges – Some users are unable to sign in or reset their credentials.

2. Data Migration Issues – These include:

  • Android migration failures, often showing “An error occurred while loading your data. Please log out and try again.” We know logging out and in again does not currently resolve this, and our development team is working tirelessly to identify why certain operating systems are not correctly calling on the stored logs.
  • “Dive log is corrupted…” messages – In most cases, this is a temporary state during the migration process.
  • Migrations that appear successful but logs do not display – The backend migration steps can take time to complete. Many users find their logs appear after several hours, especially after refreshing the app by logging out and signing back in.

3. Other Minor Bugs – A handful of smaller issues have been reported and are being addressed.

Our team is fully focused on resolving these problems as quickly as possible. We will continue to release fixes, improvements, and updates as soon as they are ready. Your reports are helping us pinpoint issues across devices, regions, and operating systems, and we are grateful for your patience and partnership as we work through them.

Dive Shearwater is more than a new app—it is a modern, scalable platform that gives us capabilities we simply could not achieve with the legacy Shearwater Cloud infrastructure. This new foundation allows us to:

  • Build and release features far more quickly
  • Evolve the user experience continuously, not occasionally
  • Deliver a truly premium digital companion for every Shearwater diver

 

Once we are through the initial migration challenges, you can expect a cadence of meaningful enhancements and new functionality that will make Dive Shearwater a flagship part of the Shearwater product family.
