Job Summary

We are looking for an analytical Product Quality & Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team in the Corporate Quality and Compliance group to support development of the world’s best SCUBA diving computers and other mission critical diving electronics.

The Product Quality & Regulatory Compliance Specialist works within the Operations group and partners within the R&D team on tasks related to ongoing regulatory compliance and design verification testing of new product designs.

The role reports to the Corporate Quality and Compliance Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

Regulatory and Compliance Product Support

  • Collect documentation to create, update and maintain Technical Files.
  • Organize and maintain product certifications.
  • Communicate with regulators, such as notified bodies and authorized representatives.
  • Support the development and maintenance of product safety cases.
  • Assist in design reviews and risk assessments (e.g., DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis) and assist in risk-reduction investigations and verification.
  • Work with Supply Chain personnel to identify and acquire regulatory documentation for RoHS, REACH, SDS and Prop 65 compliance.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality

  • Design and maintain verification test plans and test protocols, with a focus on electrical and mechanical properties of products.
  • Write individual and summary test reports, including a Requirements Traceability matrix.
  • Inspect specifications, drawings and documentation for required info.
  • Perform design verification tests and record, document and evaluate results.
  • Perform first article inspections and validation testing.
  • Specify test equipment and coordinate purchase with supplier and in-house purchasing team.

Test Fixture Prototyping and Analysis

  • Design, assemble and program custom fixtures for use in design verification testing.
  • Measure, document, analyze and report test results

Key Skills and Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Microsoft office (e.g., Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams)
  • Electronics and mechanical assembly experience
  • Tools and equipment usage: multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, soldering station, environmental chambers, pressure chambers, data loggers
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Programming in Python and C/C#/C++
  • Basic electronics theory and design
  • CAD software (e.g., Altium and Solidworks)

Qualifications

  • Related Technical Diploma or Degree
  • 3 years of previous work experience in a Product Quality Testing or Regulatory Compliance environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Team player who can work with collaborators and cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of engineering principles (plan, design, test, report; science, math, logic)
  • Familiar with statistical tools (sample sizes, p-values, t-tests, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 processes
  • Knowledge of regulations and product safety standards

Salary Range

Career Band 1: $40,000- $70,000
