GETTING STARTED WITH AIR INTEGRATION

Follow this guide to install and pair your Shearwater transmitter with your dive computer.

Transmitter Install Procedure

For Swift and Swift GPS

Position the Transmitter on Same Side as your Dive Computer.

1. Position the Transmitter on Same Side as your Dive Computer.

Range is approximately 3’ (1m). Angle to side or point slightly forward. For complex installations, a short high-pressure hose may be required.

Install the Transmitter on HP Port of 1st Stage

2. Hand-tighten the Transmitter on HP Port of 1st Stage

Use a 1st stage with two HP ports so that a backup analog SPG can also be installed. Ensure the o-ring is present and free of debris when installing the transmitter. O-ring size is -012 and we recommend Viton® material for replacements.

3. Open Tank Valve

The transmitter will automatically turn on when it detects pressure. Likewise, the transmitter will automatically turn off after 2 minutes of no pressure. Therefore, to turn off the transmitter, close the tank valve and bleed the pressure by purging your 2nd stage. For now, leave the valve open.

Select your dive computer model to see more detailed instructions on how to complete the air integration setup.

Perdix 3

All AI settings must be configured on the surface before a dive, since the settings menu is not accessible during a dive.

Enable AI Mode on your Perdix 3

On the Perdix 3, navigate to Settings > AI Setup.

Note, that AI is never on when the Perdix 3 is turned off or in watch mode. It is also recommended to set AI Mode to OFF when AI not in use to save battery life.

Select your desired setting

Change the AI Mode setting to On + GPS or On no GPS. When AI Mode is set to Off, the AI sub-system is completely powered down and does not consume any power. When on, the AI system increases power consumption by approximately 10%.

Obtain the Serial Number

Each transmitter has a unique serial number etched on its body. All communications are coded with this number so that the source of each pressure reading can be identified.

Pair the Transmitter

Go to Tx Setup menu option, and select T1. Turn on T1, then enter the 6-digit transmitter serial number into the T1 Serial # setting. You only need to set this once, as it will be permanently saved in the settings memory.

Add an AI display to the home screen

AI information is automatically displayed as an info screen when the AI feature is enabled, however, the main screen will not show AI information until manually added.

Add AI to the home screen in the Settings > Dive > Edit Home screen menu.

Ready to Dive!

Your tank pressure should now be displayed which means the Air Integration feature is now ready to dive.

If you see a “No Comms” message, ensure the tank valve is turned on and the transmitter-to-computer distance is less than 3 ft (1m).

Gas Time Remaining (GTR)

GTR is similar to NDL. GTR is the time, in minutes, that you can remain at the current depth until a direct ascent would result in surfacing with the reserve pressure remaining.

GTR is based on your current SAC (surface air consumption) rate. GTR (and SAC) are not measured while on the surface and not shown for the first few minutes of a dive, until enough data is collected for estimates.
