Available free of charge, as a firmware update, on all Shearwater Petrels! This new Nitrox mode is clearer and easier to use than ever before. Perfect for Air and Nitrox diving, the new mode offers optional safety stops, obvious warnings and plenty of customization. When you are ready, the Petrel still has its industry leading Trimix and Rebreather modes to take your diving to the next level.
Big, Clear Displays
While the Petrel has always done Air and Nitrox diving, this new mode has been designed specifically for recreational diving with big clear text and an uncluttered display.
Optional Safety Stops
The optional safety stops can be configured from 3 to 5 minutes, turned off, or set to adapt based on dive conditions.
Decompression when you need it
The Petrel is still a decompression computer, using the Bühlmann ZHL-16C algorithm with Gradient Factors. With no lock out, and clear warnings it handles all types of open circuit Nitrox diving.

No-Decompression Limit (NDL) Planner
Plan your NDL time with a few quick buttons presses. Allows planning for surface intervals as well.
