We love hearing about the adventures our Shearwater divers are up to. In celebration of Women's Dive Day this year, we reached out to some of our team to see what's coming up on their calendars. From the Caribbean to Japan, Socorro to Iceland, read below for their next adventures and dive training aspirations.
Virginia - HR Engagement Coordinator
Where are you headed for your next dive trip and why?
I would love to go on a dive trip somewhere tropical and experience diving without a drysuit!
What is the next level of dive training or specialty you're interested in doing?
I am interested in doing the sidemount specialty! I recently got my wreck certification and I've heard it’s better to use sidemount. I would like to try cave diving at some point too.
Yasuko - RMA Technician
Where are you headed for your next dive trip and why?
Kerama, Okinawa, Japan. It’s paradise for sea life, rich in nutrients, and fed by the warm Kuroshio current. The biodiversity of marine life, stunning underwater seascapes, and sheer variety of dive sites are just some of the reasons.
What is the next level of dive training or specialty you're interested in doing?
Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver
Ana - Production Supervisor

I do not have any plans for diving this summer, but next time I go I would like to explore the beautiful ocean near El Nido, Palawan, Philippines.
What is the next level of dive training or specialty you're interested in doing?
The next level of training I would like to take is Deep Spec/Tech Training.
Allison - Global Brand Marketing Manager
Where are you headed for your next dive trip and why?
Later this year I'm off on a liveaboard to St Maarten, Saba, St Kitts. I'm looking forward to the variety of sites you can get to on a liveaboard like walls, seamounts, pinnacles and shallow reefs. I love to watch for colourful triggerfish, munching parrotfish, awkward trunkfish, photogenic angelfish and so many more.
What is the next level of dive training or specialty you're interested in doing?
I'm interested in taking a deep specialty and learning more about coral restoration.
Serena - Regional Marketing Manager, Asia Pacific
Where are you headed for your next dive trip and why?
I’d love to explore Japan’s diving. It would be amazing! I’ve heard great things about Okinawa, the Izu Peninsula, Wakayama, Chiba, and more. The Miyako, Ishigaki, and Kerama Islands in Okinawa are famous for their clear waters, coral reefs, and tropical marine life. The Izu Peninsula offers soft corals, marine life, shipwrecks, and drift diving with hammerhead sharks. Ending a day of diving with a soak in a hot spring, delicious food, and chatting with friends sounds perfect to me!
What is the next level of dive training or specialty you're interested in doing?
I would love to try sidemount diving.
Trisha - Customer Care and Marketing Coordinator
Where are you headed for your next dive trip and why?
I don't have a trip booked just yet for diving, and just enjoying more local shore diving for now. When I do though I'd love to get back to some of the offshore locations where larger animals like manta rays, many sharks, whales, and other animals can be seen. A favourite is Socorro Islands, but of course Galapagos is a dream!
What is the next level of dive training or specialty you're interested in doing?
I'd really love to do more diving at the level I'm at on my rebreather as I haven't practised since training with Pete Mesley in New Zealand for Tec 60. I do love learning so I'll always want more training and can think of cave stage and cave DPV as goals for next time I'm in Mexico.
Ness - Customer Care Manager
Where are you headed for your next dive trip and why?
There is a very long list of dive trips that I would like to take so this is a tough one. I am tentatively planning a trip to Iceland in a couple years time that wouldn't be exclusively diving, but would certainly have to include some diving. I'd like to do Silfra, but also some of the ocean vents to see some of the unique geology of the country and some of the marine life, as well.
What is the next level of dive training or specialty you're interested in doing?
Same as above, there's always more to do and try but I have yet to do any Cave training so a Cave 1 or Intro to Cave course would be interesting to try. As mentioned above, marine life is one of my bigger motivators when it comes to diving, but trying something new and challenging would be fun. Or possible CCR 1 with GUE. I've done a basic CCR cert already and really like the Tiburon unit that I was trained on, but being able to compare the systems and gain a broader understand of the different configurations and methodology is never a bad thing.
Natchasiri - APAC Customer Support Representative
Where are you headed for your next dive trip and why?
Red Sea Egypt, I've always wanted to try waters that are cooler compared to my home in Thailand, since it attracts bigger fish! My trip is upcoming October 2025!
What is the next level of dive training or specialty you're interested in doing?
I would love to learn Technical Diving, so I can dive deeper and longer.
