As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will be the lead for Sustaining Engineering and will provide technical engineering support to your team. The emphasis will be placed on providing engineering support to critical production equipment, while achieving maximum reliability and minimum downtime. You will design and build any new critical production equipment as needed. There will be a variety of engineering change tasks and assignments to your role, related to Sustaining Engineering.

 

Responsibilities: Key Result Areas (KRA’s)

 

1) Zero downtime on critical production equipment (weight 40%)

· Ensure uninterrupted operation of critical production equipment, including PCA programming stations, dive stations, post-dive testers, and OEM board programmers.

· Investigate and resolve issues, lead non-conformance investigations, and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).

· Improve manufacturing processes and analyze operational efficiency and downtime trends.

· Document manuals, drawings, schematics, and software/firmware details.

· Transfer equipment ownership from R&D to ME and assist with new software/firmware implementations.

 

2) Sustaining (primarily) electrical, ECs, test plans and assignments (weight 30%)

· Handle Engineering Change (EC) tasks and sustaining engineering assignments.

· Develop and execute test plans and regulatory tests for finished goods and components, analyzing and documenting results.

· Lead non-conformance investigations on finished goods and components, implementing CAPA.

· Maintain and regularly update DFMEA

· Support Service Centers with in-depth field return analysis

 

3) Technical leadership (weight 20%)

· Provide technical leadership for the Sustaining Engineering team, fostering knowledge sharing and growth.

· Establish and maintain Sustaining Engineering KPIs, acting as a liaison between Sustaining Engineering and other departments.

· Support New Product Introduction projects.

 

4) Development of new critical production equipment (weight 10%)

· Develop innovative solutions to enhance production lines, incorporating electrical and mechanical engineering.

· Design, build, and validate new custom-made production equipment, leading projects with internal and external stakeholders.

· Design and prototype custom-made PCAs.

 

Qualifications

· Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Hardware Engineering or equivalent.

· 5+ years’ experience in engineering.

· 2+ years’ experience in leadership role.

· Strong project management skills.

· Proven experience in troubleshooting, designing, and building test equipment.

· Proficiency with SolidWorks and Altium.

· Experienced with engineering documentation standards.

· Nice to, but not required: Familiar with SW and FW languages, e.g. C#, Python, Java, Objective C, Swift, C or similar.

Career Band 2: $65,000-$100,000
