No, the Perdix 3 is a stand alone only product. The Perdix 3 does have a rebreather (CC/BO) mode that uses internal fixed PPO2 setpoints. This is useful for calculating backup decompression schedules when diving a closed circuit rebreather. The Petrel 3 is sold in the Fischer and DiveCAN models for connecting to a rebreather.
We strongly recommend that if you are not diving your Shearwater computer for an extended period of time, that you remove the battery to avoid the leaks and damage that can happen in any electronic device. Your dives and data are securely stored on the computer, even when the battery is removed.
If only storing for a short period of time, we recommend to leave 1.5V Lithium batteries in the device, to keep a better estimate of remaining capacity. 1.5V Alkaline batteries should always be removed due to high risk of leakage.
Shearwater recommends service of your dive computer every 2 years by an authorized service centre.
While almost any kind of AA battery will work with your Shearwater Perdix 3, 1.5V lithium batteries like the Energizer Ultimate Lithium work best. This battery type performs well in a wide temperature range and is much less likely to leak and cause damage to your dive computer.
